  • Computer-Aided Drafting and Design


    Computer Aided Drafting is used in all phases of the design and manufacturing process, from 2D design and technical drawings to 3D models and prototypes. At Virginia College, you’ll be offered training in multiple aspects of the CAD field, including: - Architectural Design - Mechanical Design - Customization and Programming. Virginia College offers full CAD facilities and instructors with real-world knowledge and experience. We also give you access to the latest software, supplemental software, and the equipment that you’ll actually be using in your new career. You will have access to a broad-based education within a CAD environment. You can become proficient with the most commonly used software, and develop basic skills in 3D design, CAD customization, and surface modeling, all while developing your own professional portfolio.
  • Healthcare Reimbursement


    Healthcare Reimbursement focuses on the fundamentals of medical office protocol with specialized training in the areas you will need for a job in this growing field.

    As a Virginia College student, you’ll be prepared for entry-level positions in the medical field related to reimbursement procedures. You’ll learn the fundamentals of medical office protocol and get specialized training in Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases (ICD), and Health Care Financing Administration Common Procedural Coding System (HCPCS).

    In addition to your classroom experiences, you will also serve an externship for on-the-job training. You’ll be supervised by a physician, nurse, or health services professional and learn the billing and coding process from the working perspective.

  • Medical Assistant (Associate)


    Medical Assistants perform both administrative and clinical duties, reporting directly to an office manager, physician, or other health practitioner. Your training will focus on examining room procedures, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, performing routine laboratory procedures, sterilizing and maintaining equipment, and the proper techniques for administering medications as directed by the physician. You’ll also learn to handle administrative duties.

    In addition to training from instructors with real-world experience, you will also complete an externship in a physician's office, clinic or related healthcare facility under the supervision of a physician, nurse, or health services professional.

  • Medical Billing and Coding

  • Salon Management


    Virginia College’s Salon Management program offers the student an opportunity to earn an associate degree in the cosmetology area by completing additional requirements in management and general education. The area of concentration includes courses that must be completed in order for the student to sit for the State Board of Cosmetology licensing examination. This program is designed to prepare students to successfully own, operate, and/or manage a beauty salon.

    Upon successful completion of this program, students should be able to

    • understand and follow laws, rules, and regulations of the State Board of Cosmetology
    • successfully interact with customers and build a clientele
    • conduct typical business transactions such as making appointments, cashiering, and inventory
    • perform hair care and styling services such as permanent waving, hair coloring and lightening, chemical relaxing, scalp treatments, shampooing, cutting, shaping, setting, and combing techniques
    • utilize standard sanitation and safety precautions; _ communicate, analyze, and perform cosmetology services in a professional manner
    • recognize skin disorders and perform skin care services within cosmetology limits
    • recognize nail disorders and perform nail services within cosmetology limits, including manicures, pedicures, nail tips, acrylic nails, and creative nail art
    • manage daily salon operations, purchase supplies, supervise staff, and effectively promote products and services.
