Accounting Specialist
The Accounting Specialist Program is designed to meet the needs of those students who work in the accounting field or who are presently employed and want to complete additional accounting courses beyond the diploma level. As a student in this program, you’ll prepare for positions such as Accounting Clerks, Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialists, Personal Income Tax Clerks, Collection Clerks, or Professional Bookkeepers. This program amplifies the student’s understanding of the role of accounting in business operations with a special emphasis on combining accounting theory and practice with the microcomputer. Upon graduation and with two years of experience, you will be encouraged to sit for the Certified Bookkeeper (CB) national certification.

Computer-Aided Drafting and Design
Computer Aided Drafting is used in all phases of the design and manufacturing process, from 2D design and technical drawings to 3D models and prototypes. Sonography is a major component of modern medicine, and its uses in diagnosis are continually growing, and have actually replaced more invasive procedures. Ultrasound is a major component of modern medicine and there is a continued high demand for skilled sonographers. You’ll prepare to work in hospitals or private practices, assisting physicians by performing high frequency sound wave patient examinations to image internal structures. This highly specialized credential will focus on ultrasound physics and instrumentation along with abdominal, reproductive system, obstetrical, gynecological, and vascular scanning.

Salon Management
Virginia College’s Salon Management program offers the student an opportunity to earn an associate degree in the cosmetology area by completing additional requirements in management and general education. The area of concentration includes courses that must be completed in order for the student to sit for the State Board of Cosmetology licensing examination.
