The Business Administration Associates Degree with a concentration in Accounting is an 18-month program designed to prepare students to enter the job market with the skills and knowledge of business necessary to qualify them for responsible positions in the accounting field. The program offers a strong, comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of business management. Students receive training in essential professional skills and mastery of business procedures and communications. The core curriculum is practical and is supplemented by special lectures and workshops on such subjects as data processing concepts and systems, communications skills, and professional development.
The program also fosters critical thinking together with oral and written communication skills. It includes an introduction to literature and the social sciences, which are important in our diverse world to an understanding of the multi-cultural environment in which corporations work today.
The accounting portion encompasses a thorough introduction to accounting principles, computerized accounting, cost accounting, payroll and tax accounting and principles of finance. An internship is required of all students in their sixth and final quarter, where they can learn to apply their knowledge working closely with industry professionals. Our graduates should realize how to function professionally within a modern work setting.

Computer Network Operations
The Computer Network Operations Degree Program offers an 18-month day and a 21- month evening degree program preparing students for networking and information technology careers in business and industry. We offer courses which explain advanced network concepts like file server, client configurations, protocol stacks and multi-platform integration in an authentic, managed network environment. Students also review basic hardware assembly and installation procedures. Graduates are prepared for PC troubleshooting over a wide variety of platforms and configurations.
In addition, students develop critical thinking as well as oral and written communication skills and are exposed to basic business principles. A final quarter internship program provides students with the opportunity to work beside industry professionals applying their knowledge learning how to function in an up-to-date technology environment.

Computer Technical Support
The Computer Technical Support Program is a 12 month certificate program for those interested in a hands-on working environment with PCs. Qualified PC computer specialists and network technologists are in demand across a wide spectrum of American industry since almost any company needs personnel to repair, upgrade or reconfigure those resources and their operating system?s software.
Upon successful completion of the program, a student should be able to configure workstations in a number of Microsoft operating systems and in the popular Novell operating environment. In addition, the PC training will provide valuable hands-on experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting and fault isolating with the most common components within the PC.
To enhance your hardware knowledge base, the Gibbs Computer Technical Support Program includes administrative training in network topologies, protocols and workstation network access. As a graduate, you can be confident that you have been taught industry-current skills and knowledge of the computer industry as you embark on your new career.

e Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice is designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn skills necessary to find employment in the field of Criminal Justice. The program combines lecture and hands-on experience in criminology, the criminal justice system, juvenile justice, civil law, and network security. Students will be exposed to topics in private security, homeland security, law enforcement, and networks to ensure a broad understanding of the types of employment available in Criminal Justice.

Digital Filmmaking and Multimedia
The Digital Filmmaking & Multimedia Program offers an 18-month Associates degree is designed to prepare students to use the full range of video, audio and animation hardware and software to produce content for business needs and for experimental forms. The program provides students with the technical, conceptual and design skills necessary to make a valuable contribution in information and exhibition design for business, government and institutions. Students? learning is grounded in the contemporary forms of multimedia with a critical analysis of film history and theories of mass communications.
Students can gain technical mastery of today?s broadcast media through hands-on projects in design, video, audio, lighting and editing. Further, the student can become familiar with how the technical and theoretical knowledge is extended to the broadcast technology of the Internet. Projects can provide students with knowledge in the professional practices of planning, writing, budgeting and production design, skills integral to their future success.

Digital Media Communications
The Digital Media Communications Program offers an 18-month Associates degree designed to prepare students to use digital media and Web design to solve business problems for their clients by promoting identity and branding for institutions, corporations and entertainment companies. Students can learn basic design principles and how they are used in global computer communications.
Students can learn both the Windows and Mac platform and current industry software. They then focus on advanced digital imaging, interface design and media studio practices and project management. They review a variety of sites analyzing their use of language and software. The portfolio class helps students assemble and refine their own sites to provide them with a showcase of their skills. Students also complete a 3-D animation sequence that culminates in a digital video. They produce a game trailer which is a video depiction of a game design complete with animation, live footage, video menu design and print to CD-V or videotape.

Visual Communications
The Visual Communications Program offers an 18-month Associates degree designed to prepare students to use print media to solve business problems for their clients by promoting specific products and product lines and by branding the company image. Students can learn to work in a wide variety of print media as well as the Web.
Visual Communications majors can learn the basic principles of 2-D design and drawing and can learn digital design using current industry software. They can also learn digital imaging and photography and go through a design sequence from corporate communications to advertising and entertainment design. While exposed to the Windows platform, Visual Communications students work primarily on the Mac.
Students bring all their projects together and work on editorial design in Portfolio. They are trained in what is required for print production as well as the basics of web design and web animation using HTML, Dreamweaver and Flash.
